UNKEA is a National organization working in Nasir County of Upper Nile State. UNKEA was founded in 2002 by a number of citizens of Upper Nile State, with the initial purpose of fighting the deadly disease Kala azar which affects people in Upper Nile. UNKEA’s mandate has expanded to include basic services such as primary health care, water and sanitation, education, food security, social development of youth and women; economic development; and peace building. UNKEA is registered with GOSS/SSRRC in Juba and with state authorities in Malakal, and works in association with UN agencies, international NGOs, local authorities and community groups. UNKEA has offices in Juba, Malakal, Torit, Nasir, and Magwi

- To promote and facilitate health care services and education as a means of responding to the myriad health problems that confront the people, including HIV/AIDS and other communicable diseases
